Union Registry

Union Registry

Quick Snapshot ⚡️

Union Registry is a playful proof-of-concept built in under 48 hours during ETHGlobal. It lets people celebrate their marriages, civil unions, or other personal bonds by registering them on-chain using Ethereum Attestations.

As the sole designer, I handled everything from UX and UI to branding, prototyping, and the pitch deck. The project received strong feedback during our live demo and sparked real interest among the audience—some even wanted to use it for their actual weddings.

The challenge

Web3 is packed with complex, serious tools. We wanted to create something light, fun, and very human. There wasn’t a clear problem to solve—just a question:

What if committing to someone could be celebrated on-chain?

The challenge was less about solving a technical issue and more about designing an experience people would enjoy, understand, and remember.

My Role

As the only designer on the team, I owned:

  • The user flow — mapping how two people could create and sign their union

  • UI & interaction design — playful, expressive, and fast to use

  • Branding — visual identity that made it feel warm and personal

  • Prototyping — designing the key screens and simulating the signing process

  • Pitch deck — building the presentation for our live demo

All of this was done in under 48 hours, alongside a PM and two developers.

Approach

We started with a fun idea—“on-chain marriage”—and decided to make the experience feel symbolic and enjoyable rather than purely functional.

So, we created two complementary flows:

Approach

We started with a fun idea—“on-chain marriage”—and decided to make the experience feel symbolic and enjoyable rather than purely functional.

So, we created two complementary flows:

🕶 The “Better Half” Flow

Person A kicks things off by starting a union proposal. Along the way, they choose one half of a custom Noggle (yes—cool sunglasses, obviously). Once done, they share the proposal with their partner.

💌 The “Other Half” Flow

Person B receives the proposal, reviews the union details, and picks their matching half of the Noggle. When they confirm, the two halves merge into one complete pair—symbolizing the union.

After that, both users can mint their fully joined Noggle—a playful and visual token of their connection. All of this is backed by Ethereum Attestations, so it’s immortalized on-chain.
