Quick Snapshot ⚡️
Droplet helps fitness communities and social groups schedule recurring events without the typical group chat chaos.
I joined just after MVP launch as the product designer. I led a redesign of the product’s core experience—simplifying scheduling, clarifying flows, and making the platform feel more intuitive and human.
Result? Less back-and-forth, higher organizer engagement, and a smoother experience for users of all tech levels.

The challenge
Organizers were juggling spreadsheets, chats, and inconsistent replies to plan weekly events. Droplet had a working MVP, but the UX was cluttered, flows were unintuitive, and features weren’t landing with less tech-savvy users.
We needed to simplify. Fast.

My Role
As the only product designer, I worked across the entire product:
✦ Translated user feedback into actionable product insights
✦ Restructured key flows (event creation, availability setting, calendar views)
✦ Designed mobile-first UI with low cognitive load
✦ Introduced an internal design system to speed up development and reduce inconsistency

Our Guiding Principle: The 55 Rule
We designed with the idea that “if a 55-year-old non-techie can’t figure it out, it’s not ready.”
This rule became our compass for content clarity, action labeling, and overall simplicity.

Designing for Conversation, Not Just Scheduling
We realized that most event planning was already happening in group chats. So instead of building a separate planner, we leaned into that behavior.
Key Moves:
✦ Embedded scheduling inside conversations
✦ Streamlined availability selection to a single-tap
✦ Let users share events seamlessly back into chat threads

Impact
The redesign brought clarity and confidence to both users and the internal team. It smoothed out the scheduling process and helped Droplet feel like a tool people could trust—not something they had to figure out.
✦ Organizers reported less friction and faster coordination
✦ Users completed scheduling flows 30% faster
✦ Internal onboarding became easier, reducing explanation time by half

Iterative Testing: Because Users Know Best
Every new feature underwent rigorous prototyping and was shared with our early adopters. Their insights were invaluable, ensuring each addition resonated with real-world use and upheld our 55 Rule.

A Calendar That Works for You
Droplet’s calendar isn’t just about marking dates. Users can set their availability, allowing others to plan events without the back-and-forth. It’s scheduling made simple.

Building a Cohesive Design System
I also introduced a lightweight design system—not just to make screens look good, but to speed up the dev/design workflow.
✦ Centralized components
✦ Flexible layouts for mobile-first use
✦ Minimalist palette and typography (Poppins) to keep the UI approachable

Simplicity Wins
Working on Droplet was a great reminder that simplicity wins—especially when it comes to collaboration tools. This project taught me how to balance user intuition with strategic design thinking.
